Significant Potential for Espoon Asunnot to Cut Energy Costs and Emissions by Investing in Energy Efficiency

Apex Heat conducted a study for Espoon Asunnot to assess the possibilities for improving energy efficiency. The study covered over 300 properties and more than 1,200 buildings, with promising results based on simulations:
- Heating costs could be halved by investing in property-specific heat pumps: 80% of the properties could economically benefit from geothermal energy and heat recovery systems. Apex Heat also assessed the feasibility of borehole fields and explored the potential for air-to-water heat pumps.
- Solar power systems would be financially viable for over 90% of the properties.
- Energy ratings could be improved in nearly all properties through economically sound measures.
- The study shows that investments could reduce energy-related emissions by more than 80%.
- However, there are property-specific differences in the financial viability of the investments, as well as their impact on energy ratings and emissions.

The analysis was conducted using software and algorithms developed by Apex Heat, which provide accurate insights into which energy efficiency measures are technically and financially feasible. The calculations utilized Espoon Asunnot's actual energy consumption data, allowing for detailed simulations of the best solutions for each property.
